Technologies

The situation

Docmil is a Romanian grocery retailer with a physical store. The requirement was the system that runs the shop: what is in stock, what it cost, what was sold, and a receipt that satisfies Romanian fiscal law.

What we built

Catalogue and stock

Products, categories and VAT classes, then suppliers and goods receipts. Stock is tracked as lots rather than a quantity, with first-expiry-first-out consumption. Goods receipts export to the NIR shape Romanian accounting requires.

Sales

Cash and card, posted atomically so a sale either fully records or does not. Barcode scanning wired through checkout, product management and goods receipt. Integrity enforced by database constraints and triggers rather than application code alone.

Fiscal integration

The point of sale drives a Datecs DP-25MX fiscal printer directly. Receipts printed by this system are legally valid fiscal documents, so the catalogue, its VAT classes and the device have to agree exactly.

What mattered

Fiscal compliance has no partial credit. A receipt is valid or it is not, and the device is the authority — which meant building against real hardware from the first day rather than a simulator.

Outcome

Live and in daily use, running the store’s stock, sales and fiscal reporting.
